Timber, fencing and sleeper work
The nature of timber, being a natural product, means no pieces are exactly identical. It is not a man-made product made from a consistent formulae like steel or plastic.
Different pieces of the same size wood will move differently, causing cracks and twists in some and not in others. Timber placed outside continues to contract during the initial period and then expand and contract throughout its use. This natural movement is even more noticeable during extremes of wet and dry periods.
This is not a defect, but a characteristic of the product, which must be taken in to account when making your purchase decisions.
We use sleepers in the garden to create planter beds, garden steps, garden walls, paths, shed bases and much more. There are two types of sleepers; a range of tanalised softwood sleepers that are available in two profile sizes and three different lengths or hardwood Oak sleepers which are available in one profile and two different lengths.
Extensive knowledge of installing timber and fencing, including closeboard fencing in kit form, closeboard panels, garden panels and garden trellis and softwood Palisade picket fencing.

We’re absolutely delighted with our new limestone patio area - it is a masterpiece! Ian took this project on from start to finish and his calculations for materials were spot on - with 80sq metres laid, we ended up with less than a m2 of paving, two bags of cement and a slither of building sand at the end - how?!
Ian has also laid cement bases for three outbuildings, constructed substantial gates and fencing at the front our property and we will no doubt have more projects for him in the future.
